PAUL R. DUFFY
Paul R. Duffy graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with degrees in English and Economics. Mr. Duffy attended Seton Hall Law School and graduated in 1986. While attending Seton Hall, Mr. Duffy was a legal intern with Federal District Court Judge John Bissell and upon graduation was selected as law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Hamer for the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Duffy entered private practice in 1987 with the firm of Bumgartner, Hardin & Ellis and handled defense matters involving environmental litigation, medical malpractice, antitrust and general liability cases. Mr. Duffy was next associated with the law firm of Gennet, Kallmann, Antin & Robinson in Parsippany, New Jersey. At this firm, he obtained extensive trial experience in the fields of subrogation, insurance fraud investigation, personal injury, premise liability and products liability. Mr. Duffy has experience in insurance contract interpretation and has performed many Examinations Under Oath.
In February of 1995, Mr. Duffy opened his own practice in Liberty Corner, New Jersey specializing in subrogation and insurance defense matters. In July of 1996, Mr. Duffy joined practices with William J. Kearns. The firm's most recent client list includes State Farm Insurance Company, Highpoint Insurance Company, Sentry Claims Service, Palisades Safety & Insurance Association, Plymouth Rock Insurance Company, Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company, First Trenton Indemnity Company, Franklin Mutual Insurance, Farmers Insurance Company of Flemington and Cumberland Mutual Fire Insurance Company.
Mr. Duffy is a founding member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP). NASP is a national subrogation education organization. Mr. Duffy earned the title of a Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional (CSRP) in 2004, the first year this designation was available.
